Newlands Parents’ Association

The Newlands Parents’ Association (NPA) is at the heart of our school community. Made up of dedicated parents and carers who give their time, energy and creativity, the NPA plays a huge role in making Newlands the vibrant, supportive and joyful place it is. Their work brings families together, raises vital funds, and creates the kind of school spirit that lasts long after events are over.

What the NPA does

The NPA supports the school in countless ways — always with warmth, enthusiasm and a real sense of community. Their work includes:

Fundraising that makes a difference

From seasonal fairs to raffles, sponsored events and community activities, the NPA raises money that directly benefits our students. Their efforts help fund equipment, resources, enrichment opportunities and those extra touches that make school life even better.

Brilliant events that bring us together

The NPA organises a wide range of events throughout the year — quiz nights, family socials, festive celebrations, summer gatherings and more. These events are fun, welcoming and full of Newlands spirit, giving families a chance to connect and feel part of something special.

Second‑hand uniform sales

Their regular second‑hand uniform sales are hugely popular, offering families a sustainable, affordable way to purchase high‑quality uniform items. It’s practical, eco‑friendly and a great way to support the school community.

Supporting school life

Whether they’re helping at concerts, cheering on sports events, welcoming new families or lending a hand at open evenings, the NPA is always there — adding warmth, organisation and a friendly face to school occasions.

Why the NPA matters

The NPA embodies our values of courage, compassion and commitment.

They step forward with ideas, give generously of their time, and work together to create opportunities for every student. Their support strengthens the partnership between home and school, and their contributions enrich the experience of every child at Newlands.

Most importantly, they help build a community where everyone feels they belong — parents, carers, students and staff alike.

Get involved

The NPA is always delighted to welcome new members. Whether you can offer a little time or a lot, whether you love organising events, baking cakes, sharing ideas or simply lending a hand when needed, there is a place for you.

Getting involved is a wonderful way to meet other families, support the school and make a meaningful difference to student life.

If you’d like to join the NPA or find out more about what they do, we’d love to hear from you.
