From our Head Girls to our Deputy Head Girls and our Heads of Houses, each leader brings her own strengths, ideas, and energy. Together, they help make Newlands a place where every student feels seen, supported, and inspired to take the next step in her own journey.

But what makes our student leadership so special is that it isn’t about a select few. Our leaders see their role as helping others lead too. They mentor younger students, encourage new ideas, and create opportunities for everyone to step forward in their own way.

Our Head Girls 

Our Head Girls are the heart of student leadership at Newlands. They represent the voice of the student body, championing ideas, celebrating achievements, and helping to create a school culture where everyone feels they belong.

They lead with courage — speaking up, taking initiative, and showing others what it looks like to step forward with confidence. They lead with compassion — listening, encouraging, and making space for every girl’s perspective. And they lead with commitment — working hard behind the scenes to make school life richer, kinder, and more connected.

Our Heads of Houses bring energy, pride, and community spirit to every corner of Newlands. They are the champions of their Houses — organising events, encouraging participation, and building a sense of belonging that stretches across year groups.

They help students discover their strengths, celebrate their successes, and find the courage to get involved. Whether it’s cheering on a team, supporting a charity event, or welcoming new students, our Heads of Houses show how leadership can be joyful, inclusive, and full of heart.
