Drama

What We Study

Drama develops confidence, creativity and communication. Students explore performance, text, devising and theatre styles, learning to express ideas clearly and work collaboratively. The curriculum encourages imagination, empathy and the ability to evaluate performance thoughtfully.

Key Stage 3

Students build core performance techniques, character work and devising skills. They explore a range of texts and stimuli, learning how to interpret ideas, create meaning and work effectively as part of an ensemble. The curriculum builds strong foundations in expression, creativity and teamwork.

Key Stage 4

At GCSE, students study practitioners, analyse live theatre and complete both devised and scripted performances. They learn how to shape ideas for an audience, justify creative choices and evaluate performance using subject specific vocabulary. The course develops confidence, discipline and expressive skill.

Beyond the Classroom

Performances, workshops and theatre visits enrich students’ understanding of the subject. These experiences help them grow as confident, articulate communicators who can collaborate and think creatively.
